Standard interface for financial documents needed

Hi,

We need to create an interface from an outside payroll system (non SAP). We have a custom excel upload report which I don't want to use.

IDOC is not an option as the sending system is not SAP. I recalled some years ago I set up an interface with the format for the standard report RFBIBL00. This has several advantages like being able to run in background.

Is there another standard method to process a file and post a document in FI?
